Palantir Technologies raised its full-year revenue outlook on Monday, driven by what the company described as strong demand from US customers. The data analytics firm now expects 2024 revenue to come in higher than previously forecast, after reporting a 93% jump in quarterly sales.
Why the outlook changed
The company cited accelerating adoption of its artificial intelligence platforms among US government and commercial clients. Palantir said the growth was broad-based, with both existing customers expanding contracts and new clients signing on. The revised guidance reflects confidence that the momentum will continue through the rest of the year.
Revenue details
For the second quarter, Palantir reported revenue of $678 million, up from $351 million a year earlier. That 93% increase beat analyst expectations. The company's US commercial revenue more than doubled, while US government revenue also posted strong gains. International revenue grew at a slower pace.
What the company said
Palantir executives pointed to the success of its Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) as a key driver. The company has been pushing AIP as a tool for organizations to integrate large language models into their operations. In a statement, Palantir said it is seeing "unprecedented demand" for its technology, particularly from US businesses.
Stock reaction
Shares of Palantir rose in after-hours trading following the announcement. The stock has more than doubled this year, reflecting investor enthusiasm about the company's AI push. Palantir's market value now exceeds $50 billion.
The company's next earnings report is expected in November, when investors will see whether Palantir can sustain its torrid growth pace.
