Pentagon Adds Alibaba, Baidu, and BYD to Military-Linked Entity List

The Pentagon has added Alibaba, Baidu, and BYD to its military-linked entity list, a move that brings the total number of companies on the list to 188.

New arrivals on the list

The three Chinese companies—Alibaba, Baidu, and BYD—are now included in the Pentagon's designation of entities it says have ties to the People's Liberation Army. Alibaba is an e-commerce and cloud computing giant, Baidu a leading search engine and AI developer, and BYD a major electric vehicle and battery manufacturer.

Growing list

With these additions, the military-linked entity list has grown to 188 companies. The list is periodically updated by the Pentagon as part of its oversight of entities with potential military connections.

The list now stands at 188 companies, reflecting the Pentagon's ongoing assessment of Chinese corporate ties to the military.
