Robinhood reported $100 million in crypto transaction revenue for the second quarter of 2026, beating the $86.6 million consensus estimate. But the figure still marks a 38% drop from the same period last year. The company posted record total quarterly revenue of $1.31 billion, up 32% year-over-year, with net income of $573 million and diluted EPS of $0.62 — both above market expectations.
Crypto revenue beats but still slides
The $100 million crypto revenue number beat analyst forecasts by about 15%, but the year-over-year decline reflects a broader slowdown in retail crypto trading. Crypto notional trading volume came in at $40 billion for the quarter: $18 billion from the retail app (down 35% YoY) and $22 billion from Bitstamp, the exchange Robinhood acquired last year. The retail app volume drop is the steepest since the 2022 bear market, though the Bitstamp contribution helped offset some of the decline.
Transaction revenue surges across the board
Total transaction-based revenue hit $776 million, up 44% year-over-year. Options trading generated $342 million, equities revenue jumped 95% to $129 million, and prediction markets — a newer line — brought in $156 million, more than ten times the prior year's figure. Net interest revenue was $389 million, while subscription and other revenue reached $143 million, supported by Robinhood Gold memberships and Trump Accounts. The company now operates 13 business lines that each generate at least $100 million in annualized revenue.
Robinhood Chain and international expansion
During the quarter, Robinhood launched the public mainnet for Robinhood Chain, an Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain aimed at tokenized assets and institutional finance. It also expanded stock token availability to more than 120 countries via Robinhood Wallet and introduced Robinhood Earn, its first decentralized lending product. International crypto expansion plans are underway in the UK, Singapore, and the European Union — markets where Robinhood has been building out licensing and infrastructure.
Funded customers grew to 28.4 million, and total platform assets hit a record $369 billion, up 32% year-over-year. Robinhood Gold subscribers rose 39% to 4.8 million. Quarterly net deposits were roughly $22 billion. The company is expected to provide more details on its international crypto rollout and Robinhood Chain adoption during the earnings call later today.
