An anonymous 4chan user who predicted Bitcoin's October 2025 peak to the exact day back in 2023 has resurfaced with a new call. This time, the poster is forecasting the end of the crypto winter. The original prediction, posted two years before it played out, has given the account a rare kind of credibility in a space that usually runs on noise.
The new call hasn't been detailed publicly beyond the direction: winter's ending. That's thin, as these things go. But in crypto, a track record buys attention even when the substance doesn't — and this one has a track record that's hard to dismiss.
Why anyone cares about a 4chan post
4chan's business and finance boards have produced thousands of price predictions, most of them wrong within the hour. The one that's driving the current chatter was different in one specific way: it named October 2025 as the cycle top before the last halving even happened. Catching a turning point that far out is closer to luck than skill for most people. Doing it once doesn't make you a forecaster. But it does make people screenshot the post and bring it back up two years later.
The original call circulated widely in crypto circles as October 2025 approached. When the peak arrived on schedule, the post went from a bookmark to a reference point. Now the same account is using that capital to say the down cycle is closing.
What we actually know about the new call
Not much. The prediction is about the end of the crypto winter, full stop. There's no timeline attached in the facts available, no price target, no asset list. That's a meaningful gap. "Winter is ending" can mean anything from "the bottom is in" to "next bull run starts in six months" to "the worst of the drawdown is behind us." All of those are falsifiable, and none of them are checkable right now.
The ambiguity is probably the point. Vague calls survive. Specific ones get graded. The original prediction worked because it had a date. This one doesn't, at least not publicly.
The problem with building a thesis on an anonymous poster
Anyone can post on 4chan without an account. There's no way to verify that the person making the new prediction is the same person who made the old one. The board doesn't have persistent identities, and tripcodes are trivially spoofed. That doesn't mean the call is wrong — it just means the pedigree is weaker than the narrative suggests.
There's also a base-rate issue. In 2023, a lot of people expected the next cycle top sometime in late 2025. The halving schedule made it a conventional bet. Nailing the month is more impressive than nailing the year, but it isn't the same as calling a black swan. Crypto twitter has a way of flattening that distinction after the fact.
What would actually confirm the call
If the winter really is ending, the signs would show up in things that don't come from 4chan: sustained spot volumes, a return of venture funding to early-stage crypto, and exchanges hiring again instead of trimming. None of that is confirmed yet in anything we have.
For now, the new prediction is a post on an anonymous imageboard, being passed around by people who remember the last one. That's the whole story. Whether it ages as well as the October 2025 call depends on something no one can check today.
