Anthropic's Claude AI Forecasts Bitcoin at $500K–$1M by January 2027

Claude AI, the model built by Anthropic, has projected that Bitcoin could trade between $500,000 and $1 million by January 1, 2027, with a stretch target of $1.5 million. The forecast hinges on a major nation — possibly the United States or another G7 country — adopting Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset, sparking a full-blown bull market.

The prediction also assumes a surge in corporate treasury adoption and a "hyperbitcoinization" narrative driving institutional demand at a scale not yet seen.

Where Bitcoin sits right now

As of October 13, 2026, Bitcoin is trading around $83,200–$83,500. That's well below its previous all-time high of $126,000. On higher timeframes, the asset has been consolidating in the low-to-mid $80,000s after several attempts to push toward $87,000. It continues to hold above key longer-term moving averages.

For a standard bull market to take shape, a sustained break above $90,000–$100,000 would be needed. That would open a path back toward the prior all-time high near $126,000. RSI is currently in neutral territory, leaving significant room before reaching the extreme overbought levels typical of parabolic advances.

Nearer-term supports sit in the $80,000–$82,000 and $76,000–$78,000 zones. Holding those levels would keep the broader recovery structure intact.

Still, the $85,000 test is uncomfortable. Consecutive ETF outflows and uncertain macro direction are weighing on sentiment. The market isn't in freefall, but it isn't in a hurry either.

What has to go right

The Claude forecast isn't a technical call. It's a scenario built on policy and adoption. A G7 government would need to formally make Bitcoin part of its reserve strategy. That hasn't happened. Corporate treasuries would need to follow with aggressive allocation. And retail would need to buy the hyperbitcoinization story in size.

None of those are guaranteed. The AI model frames them as preconditions, not predictions.

The infrastructure angle

While the mega-cap forecast gets the headlines, smaller infrastructure plays are pitching themselves as the plumbing for the next cycle. LiquidChain (LIQUID) is a Layer 3 project aiming to fuse Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana liquidity into one execution environment. It's currently priced at $0.014965 and has raised $984K in its presale.

The project offers a 1,100% APY reward for presale buyers. Its features include a Unified Liquidity Layer, Single-Step Execution, Verifiable Settlement, and a Deploy-Once Architecture. Whether that's enough to matter if the bull case doesn't materialize is an open question.

What to watch

The near-term trigger is whether Bitcoin can clear $85,000 and then hold above $90,000. ETF flow data will be the first signal. If outflows continue, the $80,000–$82,000 support zone becomes the line in the sand. A break below that would put the $76,000–$78,000 zone in play and push the $500,000 forecast further into the realm of wishful thinking.

January 1, 2027 is the deadline Claude set. That's less than three months away. The model didn't say how it gets there — only what has to happen first.
