Backpack Securities has launched tokenized Intel stock on the Solana blockchain through its Sunrise protocol, the company announced Tuesday. The shares are fully backed 1:1 and are now available for trading on the decentralized exchange Raydium.
What the token offers
The tokenized Intel shares represent a direct claim on the underlying equity. Backpack Securities says each token is collateralized one-to-one, meaning holders can redeem it for the equivalent value in traditional Intel stock. The move brings a blue-chip tech name to Solana's growing roster of tokenized real-world assets.
Tokenized equities have been a niche corner of crypto, but the space is heating up. Solana's Sunrise protocol is designed to streamline the issuance and trading of such assets. By listing on Raydium, a major Solana DEX, Backpack is giving retail and institutional traders a new on-ramp to Intel exposure without leaving the blockchain ecosystem.
Backpack Securities hasn't disclosed plans for additional tokenized stocks, but the Sunrise protocol is built to support multiple issuers and assets. For now, the Intel token is live and trading. The real test will be liquidity and whether the 1:1 backing holds up under volume.
