Binance expanded its tokenized US equity platform on July 22, adding 10 new bStocks trading pairs. The new pairs include AXTIB and CRWVB, bringing the total number of tokenized stock offerings on the exchange to more than two dozen.
New bStocks pairs added
The 10 new bStocks pairs went live on Binance's BNB Chain, the exchange's native blockchain. bStocks are tokenized versions of US-listed equities, allowing users to trade fractional shares of companies without leaving the crypto ecosystem. Each bStock is backed by a corresponding security held in a regulated trust.
AXTIB and CRWVB are the two named additions, though Binance did not disclose the full list of the other eight pairs. The company said the expansion is part of its ongoing effort to bridge traditional finance and decentralized finance.
Expansion on BNB Chain
Binance first launched bStocks in April 2021, initially offering tokenized shares of major companies like Tesla and Apple. Since then, the platform has grown steadily, adding new pairs in batches. The July 22 addition is the largest single drop of new bStocks since the product's debut.
All bStocks trade against BUSD, Binance's own stablecoin. Users can buy and sell these tokens 24/7, unlike traditional stock markets that operate only during exchange hours. The tokens are minted and burned based on demand, with Binance managing the underlying asset custody.
The move comes as regulators worldwide scrutinize crypto-based stock offerings. Binance has faced regulatory pressure in several jurisdictions, but the bStocks platform continues to operate on BNB Chain, which is outside the direct oversight of US securities regulators.
Binance has not announced when it will add more bStocks pairs or whether it plans to expand the platform to other blockchains. The exchange also did not disclose the trading volume or user adoption figures for the existing bStocks.
