Binance Delists Four Spot Pairs, Pauses Stock Trading for Scheduled Upgrade

Binance is clearing out four spot trading pairs and pausing US stock trading this week as part of routine housekeeping. The exchange will delist QNT/BTC, RPL/USDC, SIGN/BNB, and SKL/USDC on August 7, and will pause stock trading for roughly three hours on August 8 due to a scheduled system upgrade by a partner broker.

Pairs coming off the books

The delisting hits pairs tied to smaller tokens—Quant against Bitcoin, Rocket Pool against USDC, and a couple of others against BNB and USDC. Binance hasn't said why these four specifically were cut, but it's a familiar pattern: low volume or deteriorating liquidity usually triggers the ax. Traders holding those pairs will need to find another route or let positions ride elsewhere.

A three-hour pause

Stock trading on Binance will go dark for about three hours on August 8 while a partner broker runs a scheduled system upgrade. The timing isn't great—August 8 is a Saturday, so it's a relatively quiet window, but any halt in a trading venue gets attention. Binance said the pause is planned, not an emergency.

This isn't the first interruption this summer. The exchange suspended BTC deposits and withdrawals in early July for wallet maintenance, and briefly stopped TRX deposits and withdrawals during a Tron Network improvement. It also supported a Zcash hard fork along the way. In other words, the operational calendar has been busy.

Solana at a crossroads

Solana's native token slid below $73.50 after a 5% monthly decline. Analyst Ali Martinez flags $73.70 as a 'make-or-break' level—over 50 million coins were bought around that mark, and a sustained close below could send SOL toward $50. Michael van de Poppe, meanwhile, sees a potential uptrend to $120 if SOL breaks $76. Pepesso argues the 'clean accumulation setup' stays valid as long as SOL holds above $45. Three analysts, three very different targets.

Dogecoin's extreme oversold

Dogecoin touched a three-year low near $0.067, a 90% crash from its 2021 all-time high. Ash Crypto notes DOGE's monthly Relative Strength Index has hit its most oversold level since the 2022 bear cycle. MikybullCrypto is blunt: 'You don't remain bearish at this current macro support level. The most oversold level in RSI. $1 is coming next during its bullish reversal.'

There's some underlying momentum. Weekly active DOGE addresses rose 16% from roughly 38,000 at the end of July to about 44,000 by August 5. Whether that's accumulation or just noise remains open.
