Binance is now offering a variable 22.25% APR on Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin. The promotion, live over the past week, pays out rewards in XRP through the exchange's Margin/Earn program. It's the latest push to boost adoption of RLUSD, which has grown to a $1.6 billion market cap — making it the 9th largest stablecoin.
How the promotion works
RLUSD holders and traders on Binance can earn weekly XRP rewards by participating in the Margin/Earn program. The APR is variable, meaning it can shift based on market conditions and program demand. Binance hasn't disclosed a fixed end date for the offer, but similar promotions typically run for several weeks. The exchange first listed RLUSD at the start of 2026 with a zero-trading-fee promotion, signaling early support for the asset.
RLUSD's path to Binance
RLUSD launched at the end of 2024, before Ripple's legal issues with the SEC were fully resolved. Initially available only on Ethereum, the stablecoin added support for the XRP Ledger within a month. That dual-chain approach helped it gain traction. By the time Binance listed it in early 2026, RLUSD already had a solid user base. The zero-fee promo on Binance likely accelerated trading volume.
Stablecoin landscape
RLUSD isn't just a Binance play. It's part of Mastercard's stablecoin initiative, alongside USDC, PYUSD, USDP, and SoFiUSD. That gives it a foothold in traditional payments infrastructure. Ripple also launched Ripple Mint, a platform for institutional minting, redemption, and management of RLUSD. That's aimed at banks and fintechs that want to issue or use the stablecoin without dealing with retail exchanges.
The 22.25% APR promotion is still running, and Binance hasn't signaled when it will end. RLUSD's market cap has been climbing, and the Mastercard tie-up could open more use cases. For now, the focus is on keeping holders engaged with weekly XRP rewards — a tactic that's worked for other stablecoins on the exchange.
