Binance to Delist Six Tokens Including PIVX and PYR on August 17

Binance will stop supporting six cryptocurrencies on August 17, the exchange announced this week. The tokens set for removal are Across Protocol (ACX), Vulcan Forged PYR (PYR), PIVX (PIVX), Vanar (VANRY), Viction (VIC), and Hashflow (HFT). The move follows a similar delisting in late June that hit four other tokens.

The tokens affected

Binance said it will terminate all trading pairs and deposit/withdrawal services for the six tokens on the specified date. The exchange regularly reviews listed assets against criteria like trading volume, network stability, and community engagement. None of the six tokens are among Binance's top-traded pairs, but each has a dedicated user base. PIVX, a privacy-focused coin, and PYR, tied to the Vulcan Forged gaming ecosystem, saw the sharpest price drops after the news broke.

Market reaction

Within hours of the announcement, PIVX and PYR each lost about 20% of their value. The other four tokens posted smaller declines, though all six traded lower. The pattern mirrors what happened in late June, when Binance delisted Alchemix (ALCX), Ardor (ARDR), NFPrompt Token (NFP), and Marlin (POND). NFP dropped 21% on that news. Investors holding any of the soon-to-be-delisted tokens now face a choice: sell before the cutoff or move them to a wallet that still supports the asset.

Regulatory pressure and global expansion

Binance has been navigating increased regulatory scrutiny in Europe, where authorities in several countries have tightened rules around crypto exchanges. At the same time, the company continues to push into new markets. About a month ago, Binance solidified its presence in the Philippines, a sign that it's not slowing down its global ambitions despite the European headwinds. The delisting of these six tokens may also be part of a broader effort to streamline offerings and reduce legal risk.

Separately, Binance briefly paused deposits and withdrawals on the TRX and ZEC networks for wallet maintenance and a hard fork. The exchange said no lingering issues were reported after the work was completed.

For holders of ACX, PYR, PIVX, VANRY, VIC, or HFT, the August 17 deadline is the next concrete date to watch. After that, any remaining balances on Binance will likely be converted to a stablecoin or become inaccessible, depending on the exchange's final policy.
