Bitcoin ETF Inflows Surge as AI Sector Cools, CLARITY Act Fuels Rotation

Bitcoin exchange-traded funds are seeing a fresh wave of inflows this week, even as the artificial intelligence token sector loses steam. The divergence suggests capital is rotating out of AI and into crypto, with the proposed CLARITY Act adding fuel to the speculation that clearer U.S. rules are on the horizon.

ETF inflows pick up

Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded their strongest week of net inflows since early June, according to data compiled by GFdaily. The move comes as investors appear to be reallocating from risk-on AI tokens, which have been under pressure amid a broader cooling in the AI narrative. The rotation is not subtle — several AI-focused tokens are down double digits over the past two weeks, while Bitcoin has held steady above $68,000.

AI momentum fades

The AI sector's momentum has been fading since late June. Tokens like Render and Fetch.ai have seen their trading volumes shrink, and the broader market cap for AI-related crypto projects has contracted by roughly 12% this month. Some traders are taking profits and moving into Bitcoin, which they see as a safer bet while the regulatory picture clears.

CLARITY Act in focus

Speculation is building around the CLARITY Act, a bill that could bring much-needed regulatory clarity to digital assets in the United States. The legislation, which has been circulating in draft form for months, is seen as a potential catalyst for institutional adoption. If passed, it would define which digital assets are commodities versus securities, a long-standing source of confusion for exchanges and issuers alike.

The timing matters. With AI tokens losing their luster and Bitcoin ETFs offering a regulated on-ramp, the CLARITY Act could accelerate the shift. Lawmakers are expected to take up the bill when Congress returns from recess in September.

For now, the market is watching the ETF flow data closely. If the trend holds, it could signal the start of a broader rotation — one that puts Bitcoin back in the driver's seat after months of AI hype.
