Bitcoin's $80K Support Hangs on This Week's Inflation Data and Fed Decision

This week brings the consumer price index and producer price index reports, the last major inflation inputs the Fed sees before it meets. Both prints have been running hot enough this year to keep rate-cut expectations in check, and another firm reading would likely push those expectations out further. A cooler number, by contrast, would give the Fed room to sound more dovish when it sits down to decide on rates.

The sequencing matters too. CPI lands first, then PPI, then the Fed. That gives the market a full week to chew on the inflation picture before the central bank has its say. If the two reports point in the same direction, the rate decision becomes a formality. If they conflict, the Fed's language will carry more weight than usual.

The level has become a line in the sand. Bitcoin has tested it repeatedly over the
