Bitcoin's Realized Cap Impulse Stalls at Neutral Level, Trader Warns of Weakening Uptrend

Bitcoin's realized market capitalization impulse is hovering just below the neutral 0 level, a threshold that on-chain data watchers say could determine the next leg for the asset. The indicator's failure to reclaim and hold above zero would signal fading market inflows, raising the probability that BTC revisits lower price levels in the coming months.

Why the 0 level matters

Joao Wedson, founder and CEO of Alphractal, told clients it's too early to declare the start of a new bull run. The realized cap impulse — which tracks the flow of capital into the network — remains below the critical zero line. A decisive move back above that mark would suggest fresh money is re-entering, potentially marking the beginning of a shorter, more compressed bear cycle shifting toward upside. For now, the indicator is acting as temporary resistance.

Repeated lower highs raise caution

Trader CGT Trader pointed out that Bitcoin has formed three consecutive lower highs without making a lower low. That pattern, they said, suggests the uptrend may be losing strength as buyers struggle to sustain momentum. The repeated inability to reclaim higher levels is a sign that bullish conviction is waning, even without a definitive breakdown yet.

What a breakdown would look like

If BTC begins printing lower lows alongside lower highs, the market structure would shift clearly. That would signal the end of the recent bull trap and the beginning of a broader high-time frame downtrend, according to CGT Trader. The question now is whether the realized cap impulse can push back above zero and rekindle inflow momentum — or whether the current stall is the calm before a steeper decline. No one's calling a top yet, but the data isn't shouting "go" either.
