Bitget TradFi Perpetuals Volume Hits Nearly $70B in Q2 as Universal Exchange Strategy Gains Traction

Bitget generated nearly $70 billion in TradFi perpetual trading volume during the second quarter of 2026, the company disclosed Tuesday, as its push to bridge crypto and traditional finance under the Universal Exchange (UEX) strategy continues to gain momentum. The figure comes as monthly volumes across all exchanges surged from $52 billion in January to $268 billion by June, with equity perpetuals driving the bulk of the growth.

TradFi perpetuals boom

Equity perpetuals were the main growth engine in Q2, according to Bitget's data. The broader market for TradFi perpetuals — products that let traders bet on tokenized versions of stocks, commodities, and currencies without an expiry date — expanded more than fivefold over the first half of the year. Bitget's own TradFi perpetuals now account for 8.61% of its total derivatives volume, the second-highest penetration rate among major centralized exchanges.

Market share gains

Bitget's futures open interest market share ticked up from 7.81% in Q1 to 8.58% in Q2. The exchange holds a top-three position across both commodity and equity perpetual markets. The growth comes amid a mixed picture for the broader crypto derivatives space: total exchange volume slipped to $16.5 trillion in Q2, though spot activity recovered from $3.3 trillion to $4.5 trillion.

Universal Exchange strategy

Bitget's UEX strategy, laid out by CEO Gracy Chen, aims to offer frictionless access to both crypto and traditional finance. The exchange has rolled out products like IPO Prime and Stocks 2.0, which TokenInsight highlighted as key launches. Bitget now serves over 125 million users and offers access to more than 2 million crypto tokens, plus 500+ tokenized stocks, ETFs, commodities, foreign exchange, and precious metals across 150 regions. The company claims the industry's lowest fees and highest liquidity in the tokenized TradFi market.

Broader market context

Bitcoin repeatedly tested the $60,000 support level during Q2, a backdrop that likely pushed traders toward alternative products like TradFi perpetuals for yield and diversification. The timing isn't ideal for pure crypto volumes, but the UEX bet appears to be paying off: Bitget's TradFi perpetuals penetration rate is now the second-highest among major exchanges, and its open interest share is climbing.

Bitget is expected to continue expanding its product lineup under the UEX umbrella, with more tokenized asset classes in the pipeline. The exchange hasn't disclosed specific Q3 targets, but the trajectory suggests TradFi perpetuals will remain a core growth driver.
