On August 6, Black Lake Digital Markets, a Wayzata, Minnesota-based firm, launched Harbor Verify, a browser-based tool for verifiable credit in onchain markets. The tool lets investors and lenders cryptographically confirm that every loan in a tokenized pool belongs there and has passed eligibility rules — without exposing private borrower data.
How Harbor Verify works
Harbor Verify runs entirely in the browser. No software to download, no separate platform to log into. You point it at a tokenized loan pool, and it checks each loan against the pool's eligibility rules. The verification is cryptographic, so the result can be independently confirmed by anyone running the same check.
The tool is aimed at a persistent problem in onchain credit: making sure the assets behind a token are real. In a tokenized pool, the loans are the collateral. If they don't exist or don't meet the criteria, the token's value is built on nothing. Harbor Verify gives participants a way to check that the loans are actually there and qualified.
Privacy by design
The key design decision is that the tool never exposes private borrower data. It confirms that a loan is in the pool and meets the rules, but doesn't reveal who the borrower is or any other sensitive information. That's a departure from traditional audits, which often require handing over full loan files to a third party.
For lenders, that means they can get the assurance they need without triggering data-privacy issues. For borrowers, it means their information stays out of the hands of anyone who doesn't need it.
Rollout
Black Lake Digital Markets announced the launch on August 6. The company is based in Wayzata, Minnesota. Harbor Verify is available now as a browser-based tool. Whether it becomes a standard check in onchain lending will depend on how quickly pools and investors adopt it.
