Blitz Wallet has integrated two Bitcoin payment tools — BTC Map and Bitrefill — giving users a more direct way to spend their bitcoin in the real world. The move, announced this week, ties together merchant discovery and gift-card purchasing inside the same wallet app.
What the integration does
BTC Map is a crowdsourced directory of businesses that accept bitcoin. By pulling that data into Blitz, users can see nearby merchants that take BTC without leaving the wallet. Bitrefill, meanwhile, lets people buy gift cards for major retailers using bitcoin — covering everything from groceries to electronics. The wallet now handles both the lookup and the payment in one flow.
Most bitcoin wallets still treat spending as an afterthought. You send coins to an exchange, cash out, or use a separate app to find a place that accepts crypto. Blitz is trying to collapse that into a single interface. For someone who holds bitcoin and wants to spend it without converting to fiat first, this reduces the friction considerably. BTC Map covers thousands of locations globally, and Bitrefill supports hundreds of gift-card brands.
No new tokens or fees announced
The integration doesn't introduce a new token or a separate fee structure. Users pay the standard network transaction cost when sending bitcoin through the wallet. Bitrefill's gift-card purchases carry their own markup, which is set by that service, not by Blitz. The wallet is simply acting as the front door.

Blitz says the features are available in the latest version of its mobile app. Users just need to update and grant location access for the BTC Map feature. There's no registration step beyond what the wallet already requires. The timing fits a broader push among wallet developers to make bitcoin spending as easy as holding it.
