Chainalysis, the blockchain analytics firm, has added support for the Cronos network. Its compliance products will now automatically monitor ERC-20 and ERC-721 token transfers on Cronos, a move aimed at helping exchanges and other businesses keep better track of activity.
What the new coverage includes
The integration brings automatic token monitoring to Cronos for both ERC-20, the standard for fungible tokens, and ERC-721, which covers non-fungible tokens. That means transactions involving these token types will be flagged and screened without manual intervention. For compliance teams, it removes the need to build custom tools to track what's moving on the network.
ERC-20 covers the vast majority of tokens traded on Cronos, from stablecoins to project tokens. ERC-721, meanwhile, is the standard for non-fungible tokens, which have become a notable part of the network's activity. Having both covered means compliance teams see the full picture.
Why this fills a gap
Cronos has grown into a busy network, and with that growth comes more scrutiny. Businesses operating there face the same anti-money-laundering and sanctions screening requirements as anywhere else, but until now they've had to piece together their own monitoring. Chainalysis's support gives them a way to plug into the same workflow they already use on other chains.
The timing isn't accidental. Regulators have been pressing exchanges and other crypto businesses to show they know exactly what's flowing through their platforms. Having a major analytics provider cover Cronos makes it easier to demonstrate that.
The integration is live
The support is available now for Chainalysis customers. It's the latest addition to the company's roster of supported networks, and it means compliance teams on Cronos can start using it immediately. For firms that have been waiting for proper tooling, this removes a significant gap.
The move also signals that Cronos is being taken more seriously by the compliance infrastructure layer. As more institutional players look at the network, having Chainalysis onboard is a box they can tick.
