Chainlink's LINK token jumped to a three-month high this week, climbing 15.27% to hit $10.60 before settling at $10.48 — a 6.38% gain in the past 24 hours alone. The rally comes as large holders quietly pulled roughly 13.5 million LINK off exchanges over the last five weeks, a move that typically signals long-term conviction rather than short-term speculation.
Whale buying spree
Data shows wallets holding between 1 million and 10 million LINK added 23 million tokens in the past 30 days, boosting their stash from 265.02 million to 288.04 million — an 8.7% increase. The next tier down, wallets with 100,000 to 1 million LINK, bought another 9.83 million coins, bringing their total to 172.91 million. Combined, these two whale cohorts absorbed roughly 32.85 million LINK in a single month, expanding their share by 7.7%.
The exchange outflow — about 10.5% of all LINK held on trading platforms — mirrors the accumulation pattern. When coins leave exchanges, selling pressure drops and holders tend to lock up supply for longer periods.
Social buzz hits a three-month high
Social volume for Chainlink surged to its highest point in three months, a sign that traders are taking notice. The spike in chatter often coincides with breakout moves, though it can also signal that the move is getting crowded.
Chart watchers see room to run
Two traders highlighted technical setups pointing higher. Trader Quinten Francois flagged LINK's breakout from a multi-year pennant pattern and projected a target of $23 by October. Trader Clifton noted the daily chart is forming a descending broadening wedge, with measured targets suggesting potential gains of 100-150% from breakout zones.
Neither pattern guarantees the move will play out, but the combination of whale accumulation, falling exchange supply, and renewed social attention gives bulls a narrative to work with.
The question now is whether the buying pressure can push LINK past the $10.60 resistance and hold above it — or if the rally fades before reaching the levels the charts suggest.
