Circle minted 250 million USDC on the Solana blockchain this week, pushing the stablecoin's total issuance to $72 billion. The fresh supply adds liquidity to Solana's DeFi ecosystem, where USDC is a key trading and lending asset.
250M USDC lands on Solana
The minting happened on July 24, according to on-chain data. It's the latest in a steady stream of USDC issuance on Solana, which has become the second-largest network for the stablecoin after Ethereum. The $72 billion total supply marks a milestone for Circle, which has been expanding USDC across multiple chains.
A 2.5% shot at $90
Despite the fresh capital flowing into Solana, a prediction market on the network's native token shows little confidence in a near-term price surge. The market gives SOL a 2.5% probability of reaching $90 by the end of July — that's just seven days away. The odds imply traders see the target as a long shot, even with the USDC injection.
The week ahead
The prediction market will resolve on July 31. If SOL stays below $90, the bettors who wagered against the target will collect. For Circle, the minting is business as usual — the company has been steadily increasing USDC supply on Solana throughout 2026, and this week's 250 million is part of that ongoing trend.
