Coinbase Advanced, the trading platform for more experienced cryptocurrency users, has introduced a new modular interface design that includes more than 20 customizable widgets. The update allows traders to rearrange their workspace by adding, removing, and resizing different components to suit their individual strategies.
Building a personal trading dashboard
Instead of a fixed screen, users can now drag and drop widgets covering everything from price charts to trade execution tools into any configuration. The modular system means each trader can build a unique dashboard — one might maximize chart real estate, while another prioritizes the order book and quick trade buttons. The widgets themselves can be resized, giving further control over how much data is visible at once.
For day traders who monitor multiple pairs simultaneously, the ability to tile several charts side by side without opening extra windows could save seconds that add up over a session. Position traders who check in less frequently might opt for a simpler view with just a few key metrics.
Why the update matters
In fast-moving markets, having the right information at a glance can make a difference between a good entry and a missed opportunity. A cluttered interface slows decision-making; a tailored one puts key data front and center. With over 20 widget options, Coinbase Advanced is giving users the ability to strip away what they don’t need and focus on what matters to their specific approach.
The company hasn’t said whether more widgets will be added over time, but the modular framework suggests future expansions could be straightforward. Widgets could include things like recent trades, funding rates, or even news feeds — though none of those were announced yet.
What’s available now
The redesigned interface is rolling out to Coinbase Advanced users. Existing accounts should see the option to switch to the new layout. There’s no additional cost — it’s part of the platform’s standard features.
Coinbase Advanced competes with a range of other trading terminals that already offer deep customization, but the move brings the exchange’s own tools closer to what serious traders expect from a professional-grade platform. The question now is whether the 20 widgets are enough to satisfy power users, or if more granular controls will follow.
For now, the focus is on letting users control their screen. The update is live and available to all eligible accounts.
