CyberWallet and Cyber Passkey Wallet to Shut Down Aug. 15 – Users Urged to Withdraw

Cyber will shut down its CyberWallet and Cyber Passkey Wallet interfaces on Aug. 15, 2026. Anyone holding a balance in either product must move their assets before that date, or they'll be forced into an unsupported recovery process that requires direct smart contract interaction.

The deadline: Aug. 15, 2026

Cyber hasn't published an exact shutdown time or time zone. That means users shouldn't assume they'll have access throughout the entire day. The public wallet URLs were still responding on Aug. 14, but that doesn't guarantee authenticated login, balance loading, or transfer functions will work for everyone on the final day.

After the shutdown, tokens remain on-chain. But Cyber will not support the technical recovery process. Users who miss the deadline will have to navigate the smart contracts themselves, with no help from the company.

What CyberWallet users need to do

CyberWallet users should transfer standard supported tokens to the signer wallet associated with their account. That's the wallet tied to the account's signing authority. Moving assets there ensures they're under the user's control before the interface goes dark.

SmartGas deposits are a different story. Those can't be withdrawn through the normal flow. Eligible users will receive Surf coupons instead. The company hasn't detailed how or when those coupons will be distributed, so CyberWallet users with SmartGas balances should watch for further instructions.

Passkey Wallet users: move everything out

Cyber Passkey Wallet users need to transfer all assets to an external wallet. After moving the funds, they should confirm that their Passkey Wallet balances are cleared. The Passkey Wallet doesn't include SmartGas, so there's no extra step there.

The shutdown notice applies to anyone holding a balance in either product. The transfer paths differ by wallet type, so users need to follow the correct one. Mixing them up could leave assets stranded.

After the shutdown

Once the interfaces are down, the only way to access tokens will be through direct smart contract interaction. That's a technical process most users aren't equipped to handle. Cyber has made clear it won't provide support for that recovery.

The clock is ticking. Users who haven't withdrawn by Aug. 15 will face a difficult path with no company backing. The smart move is to act now, before the deadline disappears.
