Tanya Denisova, who spent years as chief operating officer at Robinhood Crypto, has moved to stablecoin issuer Agora as head of operations. The hire, effective this week, puts Denisova in charge of scaling Agora's AUSD token as competition in the stablecoin space heats up.
What she'll do
Denisova will oversee day-to-day operations as Agora pushes to grow adoption of AUSD. The stablecoin, pegged to the U.S. dollar, is Agora's core product. In her new role, she's tasked with building out the operational infrastructure needed to support a larger user base and deeper exchange integrations.
Agora is a relatively younger player in the stablecoin market, which is dominated by Tether's USDT and Circle's USDC. Bringing in a operations chief with Robinhood Crypto experience signals an intent to professionalize and scale fast. Denisova knows the exchange side of the business intimately — she helped run one of the largest retail crypto platforms in the U.S.
Denisova's background
Before Agora, Denisova served as COO at Robinhood Crypto, a role that put her at the center of the trading boom and subsequent regulatory scrutiny. She left Robinhood earlier this year. Her move to a stablecoin issuer reflects a broader shift of talent from exchanges into the infrastructure layer of crypto.
The timing isn't accidental. Stablecoins have become the backbone of crypto trading and DeFi, and regulators are increasingly focused on them. Agora will need someone who can navigate both operational scale and regulatory expectations.
