Hashbank, the fully licensed universal digital bank owned by W Group, was named 'Best New Digital Bank Georgia 2026' by Global Banking & Finance Review. The award recognizes the bank's integrated fiat and crypto model, which lets customers hold traditional banking accounts and send digital assets to external wallets from one mobile app.
It's the first such recognition for a bank that only went live in 2024, and it lands as Hashbank prepares its next phase: international payment rails, new currencies, and cross-border corridors.
What the award actually credits
Global Banking & Finance Review cited technological achievements in 2026. Hashbank holds a full banking license from the National Bank of Georgia, granted in 2023, and operates under that framework rather than as a crypto-native exchange with a payments add-on. The distinction matters in the South Caucasus and Central Asia, where Hashbank says it is the first fully licensed bank to offer an integrated fiat and crypto model inside a mobile banking application.
The bank supports more than 150 digital assets for receiving from and sending to external wallets and blockchain addresses. Transfers are gated by authentication, address verification, anti-money-laundering procedures, and blockchain analytics — a stack that looks more like a compliance-first bank than a typical wallet app.
Sixty thousand customers, seventy-three countries
Hashbank currently serves approximately 60,000 customers across 73 countries. That's small by global banking standards, but the geography is the point: the bank is built for users who need both fiat rails and crypto transfers, often across borders where one or the other is unreliable.
W Group, the parent, brings a wider ecosystem of businesses serving around 40 million users globally across 150 countries. The most direct tie is WhiteBIT, the exchange with 10 million users that Hashbank describes as a strategic synergy and direct integration. That link gives Hashbank customers a path between bank accounts and an established trading venue without leaving the app ecosystem.
The next build: corridors and embedded banking
Hashbank's stated next stage focuses on expanding international financial infrastructure. The list includes international payment rails, new currencies, cross-border corridors, banking as a service, and embedded banking. Those are infrastructure plays, not consumer features. They suggest Hashbank wants other businesses to plug into its rails rather than only serving retail users directly.
W Group Founder and President Volodymyr Nosov has positioned the group around that broader ecosystem. Hashbank CEO Goga Chanadiri runs the bank itself, which operates under Georgian licensing and now carries a 2026 award to show prospective partners.
The timing isn't accidental. Cross-border payments remain one of the messiest parts of crypto adoption — fragmented licensing, slow fiat settlement, and compliance checks that differ by country. A bank with a real license and a crypto integration is a rare combination. Whether Hashbank can turn that into corridor volume across 73 countries is the open question. The bank hasn't given a timeline for the payment rails or new currency launches. The award is done; the build is next.
