HTX Ventures Wraps TOKEN2049 Booth as Justin Sun Pitches AI, Stablecoins and On-Chain Bonds

HTX Ventures closed out its two-day run at TOKEN2049 on October 8, with booth space at Levels 5, PB5-47 and PB5-48 of the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore. Justin Sun, advisor to HTX, attended TOKEN2049-related events, gave a speech and stopped by the HTX Ventures booth during the week.

TOKEN2049 itself ran October 6 to 8. HTX DAO handled the evening side of the calendar, hosting its 'Future Night' event on October 6 and an 'HTX DAO Reunion' during the conference period.

What Sun actually said

Sun's video address to Future Night was less about the conference floor and more about where he thinks the industry is heading. The pitch: crypto is deepening its ties with traditional finance, and AI is changing how wealth gets created, while crypto and digital finance change how it's held and moved.

Stablecoins, in his framing, could take a bigger role in global payments and settlements. Bonds, funds and gold will keep moving on-chain, he added. And as AI agents get more involved in economic activity, demand for digital identities and autonomous transaction capabilities will likely grow.

He also argued that the long-term value of any technology comes down to whether it delivers real productivity gains, and that the free flow of value in the digital world will be a key trend over the next decade. That's a broad claim, but it's also a fair summary of where a lot of infrastructure money is going right now.

The DAO side of the week

HTX DAO ambassador Molly spoke at Future Night, covering ecosystem mechanisms, community building and the on-chain ecosystem. She also said the DAO is exploring potential token utility and ecosystem applications — no specifics attached, so treat it as a direction rather than a roadmap.

A private industry dinner ran alongside the week's events, giving invited ecosystem contributors, partners and industry participants a chance to connect and swap views. Off-the-record dinners are standard at TOKEN2049; the fact that this one is being mentioned at all suggests the DAO wants it on the record as part of its outreach.

What visitors saw at the booth

The HTX Ventures booth was straightforward: brand displays, on-site community activities and branded merchandise. It welcomed a steady flow of visitors across the two days. For a venture arm, the booth is less about product demos and more about being visible to founders who are shopping for backers and to partners who want face time with the team.

Singapore has become the default meeting point for Asia-facing crypto firms during conference season, and this year's TOKEN2049 put the usual mix of exchanges, VCs, DAOs and infrastructure teams in one building for three days. HTX split its presence between the Ventures booth on the exhibition floor and the DAO's evening programming — a two-track approach that keeps the corporate and community sides separate.

What's still open

Two things are worth watching. The first is whether HTX DAO puts any concrete shape on the token utility it says it's exploring — Molly's comments point to something in the works, but the details aren't public. The second is whether Sun's on-chain traditional assets thesis translates into products from HTX Ventures or its portfolio companies over the next few quarters. For now, the Singapore appearance is done and the booth is packed up. The follow-through is the part that gets judged.
