Hyperliquid's HYPE token pushed above $45 Wednesday, gaining more than 6% even as Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP slid. The move follows a $1.96 billion burn of 43.4 million tokens last month that flipped the network deflationary — and a fresh price target from Arthur Hayes, who set a $150 HYPE goal for August 2026.
Deflationary math and fee flows
HYPE turned deflationary after the burn, with 100% of protocol fees now directed toward buybacks. That's generating an estimated net daily supply reduction of roughly 16,484 tokens. The token holds 44% of the on-chain perpetuals market, giving it real fee flows that back Hayes's thesis. “Real fee flows from on-chain perps dominance” is how he framed it.
Coinbase roadmap and ETF spark
Fresh optimism hit when HYPE appeared on Coinbase's listing roadmap — a signal that often precedes a full listing. Speculation around HYPE-linked ETFs and ETPs has grown louder, especially after the recent $HYPE Bitwise ETF launch, which pushed HYPE back to an $11 billion market cap. The ETF move amplified institutional attention on the token.
Chart action: $47 resistance in play
HYPE rebounded from support near $39 and reclaimed $45 within a well-defined ascending parallel channel. The 24-hour range ran from $41 to $47 on over $600 million in volume. Key resistance sits at $47; a close above that could open a run to $50. The all-time high of $60 would represent about 27% upside from current levels. Technical indicators are constructive: the EMA-20 at $42 and EMA-50 at $40 both sit below price, and RSI (14) at 55 leaves room to run. Price is pressing above the upper Bollinger Band.
Maxi Doge presale crosses $4.7M
Meanwhile, the Maxi Doge ($MAXI) presale has raised $4.7 million at a current price of $0.0002819. The ERC-20 meme token is built around a 240-lb canine embodying 1000x leverage trading culture. Staking is live with dynamic APY, and the project offers holder-only trading competitions and a Maxi Fund treasury. The meme-first marketing approach is drawing attention alongside HYPE's more fundamentals-driven rally.
Whether HYPE can hold above $47 and close in on its all-time high will be the near-term test. The Bitwise ETF and Coinbase listing remain concrete catalysts — but the token's own deflationary mechanics and fee revenue give it something most memes don't have.
