IOTA has integrated Pyth Network's price feed infrastructure onto its blockchain. The rollout went live today, August 2, 2026. The move brings real-time price data for crypto and other financial assets to IOTA users.
What the integration delivers
Pyth Network pulls price data from a diverse set of institutional sources — exchanges, trading firms, and market makers. That means IOTA's ecosystem now has access to accurate, low-latency price feeds without relying on a single provider. The data covers crypto assets as well as traditional financial instruments like equities, commodities, and forex.
IOTA has been pushing into smart contracts and DeFi over the past year. But DeFi apps need reliable oracles to function — lending protocols, derivatives platforms, and automated market makers all depend on fresh, trustworthy price data. Without that, liquidations can misfire and trades can settle at stale prices. This integration plugs that gap.
The timing isn't accidental. IOTA's layer-2 smart contract network, Assembly, has been attracting developers. Having Pyth's feeds baked in from day one gives those builders a ready-made data layer. It also positions IOTA to compete with other chains that already have oracle partnerships.
Live now
The feeds are active as of today. Developers building on IOTA can start pulling Pyth price data immediately. No further details on which specific assets are available first, but Pyth typically supports dozens of pairs. IOTA hasn't announced any additional oracle integrations yet, but this deal covers a key piece of infrastructure.
