JST Completes Fourth Buyback Round as TRON's Flagship Tokens Turn Deflationary

TRON's four flagship assets — JST, SUN, WIN, and BTT — are all now running buyback-and-burn programs, pushing the ecosystem into a deflationary phase. The latest move came from JST, which closed out its fourth major repurchase round on July 17, removing a cumulative 1,711,249,863 tokens, or 17.29% of the total supply.

JST's fourth round and the $94.6 million milestone

JST's buyback program has now spent more than $94.62 million across four rounds. The funding splits 70% from JustLend DAO Energy rental operations and 30% from USDJ stability fees — the first time that stability fee stream has been tapped. The token's price has responded sharply: it's up over 200% since the buybacks began, broke past $0.10 on July 10, and recently hit a historic high 50% above its Q1 peak. Trading volume in Q2 reached $3.27 billion.

SUN's burn mechanism expands to three venues

SUN.io has upgraded its buyback approach, now drawing funds from SunSwap V2, SunPump, and SunX. Since December 15, 2021, the platform has executed 51 consecutive burn rounds, eliminating 678,547,188.32 SUN — that's 3.4% of the total supply. The token has climbed about 10% over the past month as of July 29, according to CoinGecko data, with $640 million in total value locked and $440 million in seven-day trading volume. SUN.io also launched a dedicated buyback-and-burn dashboard on April 22, giving users a real-time view of the burn activity.

WIN and BTT commit 100% of revenues

WINkLink (WIN) and BitTorrent (BTT) entered the deflationary fold in July. Both projects announced they will allocate 100% of their respective revenues to repurchase tokens, with the actual burn phases scheduled for Q4 2026. The news has already moved WIN: it rallied roughly 22.5% as of July 29, driven by the '100% Real-Revenue Buyback & Burn' initiative.

Traders respond to shrinking supplies

The market is clearly paying attention. JST's price surge — from the 200% gain since buybacks began to the record high — shows how supply cuts can shift sentiment fast. SUN's steady climb and WIN's double-digit rally suggest the deflationary narrative is resonating across the board. But the real test comes later: WIN and BTT have set their burn phases for Q4 2026, meaning investors will wait more than two years to see actual token destruction from those programs.
