KuCoin surpassed 45 million registered users globally in the first half of 2026, with Latin America adoption surging 170% and Africa up 30%. The exchange also reported that daily active users of its AI service layer KIA jumped 300%, while off-chain payment volume through KuCoin Pay more than tripled.
Latin America and Africa lead growth
KuCoin's user base grew 170% in Latin America and 30% in Africa during H1 2026, pushing total registered users past 45 million. The exchange now supports over 1,600 digital assets and ranks among the world's top three exchanges for spot market share and Bitcoin spot market depth, according to third-party research.
KIA expands beyond customer support
KIA, KuCoin's AI service layer, saw daily active users increase 300% in H1. Originally focused on customer support, KIA now covers trading, asset management, search, market intelligence, wealth management, and content. The exchange also launched Skills Hub, which allows external AI agents to integrate with modular crypto services.
KuCoin Pay and Card go global
KuCoin Pay's off-chain payment volume more than tripled, with total payment orders increasing more than 25-fold and merchants and service partners growing 60%. The service added multi-chain payment support, Payment Links, static merchant QR codes, and API-based crypto-to-stablecoin conversion. Meanwhile, KuCard expanded into Australia through Mastercard's global network.
Institutional infrastructure deepens
KuCoin's institutional side now supports over 120 Crypto-as-a-Service partners and more than 400 broker partners, with broker-driven trading accounting for 4-7% of total trading volume. The exchange published its 44th consecutive monthly Proof of Reserves report, audited 14 times by Hacken, and holds security certifications including SOC 2 Type II, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27701, and CCSS.
Web3 wallet adds stocks and perpetuals
KuCoin's Web3 Wallet added native perpetual trading through Hyperliquid and access to over 260 tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs via Ondo Global Markets.
