Lumo Wallet has integrated StealthEX, a non-custodial instant cryptocurrency exchange, letting users swap more than 2,000 digital assets directly through the wallet. The move adds a flat 0.4% fee per transaction and keeps private keys in the user's hands throughout the process.
Swapping without giving up the keys
The integration works as a built-in exchange feature. Users pick the cryptocurrency they want to send and the one they want to receive, enter the amount, review the details, and confirm. There's no step where funds move into a custodial trading account — the swap happens directly between wallets.
That's the core appeal. Lumo Wallet says users retain control of their private keys and wallet at every stage. For people who've been burned by exchange hacks or frozen withdrawals, that's a meaningful difference.
The 0.4% fee and what it doesn't cover
The 0.4% fee is likely among the lowest available through comparable non-custodial exchange integrations, though direct comparisons vary. But it's not the whole cost. Blockchain network fees still apply, and liquidity-related costs can creep in. On floating-rate exchanges, the rate itself can shift between the moment you confirm and the moment the transaction settles.
So the headline fee is clean, but the final price tag depends on network conditions and the specific pair being traded.
A note on risk
Non-custodial doesn't mean risk-free. Blockchain transactions are generally irreversible — if you send to the wrong address or the network hiccups, there's no customer support line to reverse it. Rates can change mid-swap, and network delays can stretch a quick trade into a longer wait.
For wallet users who value control, the tradeoff is often worth it. But it's worth going in with eyes open: the same features that keep you in charge also leave you holding the bag when something goes sideways.
The integration is live now, and Lumo Wallet users can start swapping immediately. Whether the 0.4% fee holds up as more competitors add similar features is the open question — but for now, it's a solid option for anyone who wants to trade without handing over their keys.
