Moscow Exchange Adds Solana, XRP, Tron and Binance Coin Indices

Russia's Moscow Exchange started calculating and publishing new cryptocurrency indices for Solana, XRP, Tron, and Binance Coin on Wednesday, adding four more digital assets to its growing benchmark suite. The indices — tracked under tickers MOEXSOL, MOEXXRP, MOEXTRX, and MOEXBNB — will update every 15 seconds during trading sessions, a sharp change from the once-daily cadence the exchange used before.

Faster updates, broader coverage

The calculation methodology draws market data from four offshore crypto exchanges: Binance at a 50% weight, Bybit at 20%, OKX at 15%, and Bitget at 15%. From Wednesday, that 15-second update frequency applies to all of Moscow Exchange's digital currency indices, including the existing MOEXBTC for Bitcoin and MOEXETH for Ethereum. The exchange framed the indices as infrastructure that could support future financial instruments — not as tradable products themselves, but as reference rates for potential derivatives or structured notes.

From derivatives to direct trading

The move builds on a regulatory shift that started in May 2025, when the Bank of Russia allowed financial institutions to offer professional investors derivative instruments, securities, and digital assets tied to cryptocurrency prices — as long as there's no physical settlement in crypto. By November 2025, Moscow Exchange had already launched futures on its own Bitcoin and Ethereum indices, plus instruments linked to BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF and iShares Ethereum Trust ETF. Now the exchange is looking further ahead: chief product manager Maria Silkina said the platform plans to offer perpetual futures on Bitcoin and Ethereum. And according to bitsmedia, Moscow Exchange expects to launch direct cryptocurrency trading by early 2027.

Ten assets and counting

Moscow Exchange plans to expand its crypto benchmark list to ten assets. Tentatively, that means adding tickers for Dogecoin (MOEXDOGE), Cardano (MOEXADA), Hyperliquid (MOEXHYPE), and Chainlink (MOEXLINK). At press time, XRP traded at $1.4061. The exchange didn't give a timeline for the next batch, but the pattern suggests a steady rollout as it builds out the infrastructure ahead of the planned direct-trading launch.
