The AMD-Anthropic Deal
AMD's agreement with Anthropic, the AI company behind the Claude chatbot, is worth $5 billion. The deal locks in long-term demand for AMD's AI chips and, by extension, the data center infrastructure needed to run them. Riot Platforms' Rockdale site is one of the facilities that stands to benefit from that increased need for compute capacity.

Riot's Rockdale campus is one of the largest bitcoin mining operations in North America. But the company has been retrofitting parts of the site to host AI workloads, a shift that aligns with the broader trend of miners repurposing their power and cooling infrastructure for machine learning and cloud computing.
