Phantom will end support for the Monad network on August 26, the wallet provider announced this week on X. The move comes about nine months after Monad's mainnet went live in November 2025.
Phantom's X post
In a post on X, Phantom said it will stop supporting Monad on that date. The company plans to notify users in-app and will provide links to support articles explaining the options available to them. Phantom didn't say why it's dropping the network, but the decision affects users who hold or transact in Monad's native token and any assets built on the chain.
Nine months after mainnet
Monad is a high-throughput EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) chain that launched its mainnet in November 2025. The end of support comes roughly nine months later — a relatively short lifespan for a wallet integration. The timing isn't great for a chain still building its user base. Phantom is one of the most popular self-custody wallets in crypto, so losing that integration could slow adoption.
What users need to do
Phantom said it will send in-app notifications to Monad users with links to support articles. Those articles will outline options — likely including moving funds to another wallet that supports Monad, or swapping assets before the cutoff. Users who don't act by August 26 may lose access to their Monad holdings through Phantom. The wallet maker hasn't said whether it will allow withdrawals after that date.
For now, the clock is ticking. Monad users have about a month to figure out their next move.
