Pi Network Launches New Tools as Token Price Hits Record Low

Pi Network rolled out a suite of developer tools on June 28, Pi2Day, including PiVerify, Pi Sign-In, and SoloHost, aiming to simplify app creation and user access. But the token's market price tells a different story: PI dropped to $0.07, a new all-time low, before recovering slightly to around $0.08.

What Pi2Day Brought

The Pi Core Team introduced PiVerify, a service that lets developers verify user identities without building their own system. Pi Sign-In offers a single sign-on option for third-party apps. SoloHost allows developers to host apps on their own infrastructure. The Pi App Studio backend was also upgraded to support persistent storage and better infrastructure for advanced apps. The Pi Browser received a redesigned interface with improved navigation and app discovery.

Validator Deadline Passes Without Mainnet Update

A deadline of July 22 was set for validators to upgrade to v25 for Mainnet migration. As of the latest reports, no official update on the deployment has been provided. The lack of clarity leaves the community waiting for the next phase of the network's transition.

SLICE Token Distribution and Testnet

The Core Team distributed the SLICE testnet token to nearly 480,000 participants for the Pi Launchpad testing program. This is part of the ecosystem development, but its impact on the main token remains unclear.

Price Plunge and Phishing Scam

PI token hit $0.07 on July 14, a new low, then bounced to $0.10 but was rejected. It now trades around $0.08, down over 97% from its February all-time high of $2.99. Meanwhile, a phishing scam targeting wallet passphrases was reported. A user found failed transaction attempts after unlocking tokens, highlighting security risks.

The July 22 validator upgrade deadline has passed without an official update on Mainnet deployment, leaving the community waiting for the next step.
