Polkadot's DOT token is trading at $1.21, and technical analysis suggests it could reach $2.48 within the next 30 days — a move that would require overcoming a 105% price gap and multiple resistance layers.
The 105% gap to close
To hit $2.48, DOT needs to more than double from its current level. A 105% rally isn't unheard of in crypto, but it's a steep ask over a single month. The token hasn't traded at that price since early 2023, and the path up is lined with selling pressure from traders who bought at lower levels.
Chart patterns alone don't guarantee direction. The analysis points to a possible target, but the market will have to absorb supply at each resistance zone along the way.
Resistance layers ahead
Multiple resistance levels stand between DOT and the $2.48 target. Each one represents a price where sellers have historically stepped in, creating a ceiling. The first major test is around $1.50, a level that served as support last year but could flip to resistance if the token breaks above it.
Beyond that, $1.80 and $2.10 are also cited as key hurdles. A failure at any of those points would delay or cancel the projected move. Traders watching the charts are likely to wait for a clear breakout before committing capital.
What the 30-day window means
The 30-day timeframe is a forecast, not a deadline. If DOT doesn't reach $2.48 within that period, it doesn't invalidate the broader trend — but it does suggest the momentum needed for such a sharp rally isn't materializing yet. The token could just as easily drift sideways or drop back toward $1.00 if buyers don't step up.
The gap between current price and target is wide enough that even a partial move would be significant. A climb to $1.80, for example, would still represent a 49% gain. But the analysis specifically calls out $2.48 as the level to watch.
For now, DOT holders are watching whether the token can generate enough volume to push through the first resistance level. The next few trading sessions will show if the rally has legs or if the 105% gap remains out of reach.
