Raiku Launches rkuSOL, Solana's First Liquid Staking Token Tied to Blockspace Revenue

Raiku has introduced rkuSOL, a liquid staking token that the company calls the first on Solana to generate yield from blockspace revenue. The token, announced this week, lets users stake SOL while retaining liquidity — but instead of drawing rewards solely from network inflation or transaction fees, it taps into the market for block space itself.

How blockspace revenue becomes yield

Unlike conventional liquid staking tokens that distribute staking rewards and priority fees, rkuSOL channels a portion of the revenue earned from selling blockspace — the right to include transactions in Solana blocks — back to token holders. This creates a yield source independent of typical validator rewards. Raiku says the mechanism could appeal to traders who want exposure to Solana's economic activity without running infrastructure or locking up tokens.

Why high-frequency traders might take notice

The design may attract high-frequency traders, who often seek yields uncorrelated with spot or derivative markets. Because blockspace revenue fluctuates with network demand rather than with staking rates, rkuSOL's yield could behave differently from other staking products. That differentiation might offer portfolio diversification within Solana's ecosystem.

What rkuSOL means for Solana staking

Liquid staking tokens already dominate Ethereum's DeFi landscape, but on Solana the market has been smaller and less varied. rkuSOL's approach could broaden the staking options available to users. If blockspace revenue proves consistent, it might even push other protocols to experiment with similar yield sources. For now, Raiku is the first to bring this model to Solana, and the token's performance will depend on how actively Solana's block space market develops.

Raiku has not yet disclosed a formal launch date for broader trading or staking pools. The company said it will release more details about initial liquidity and exchange listings in the coming weeks.
