Ready, a crypto payment platform, has stopped service on its USDC card for users outside the European Economic Area. The move follows a change in card issuer, leaving many customers locked out after receiving abrupt deactivation notices.
What users saw
People who held the USDC card reported losing access suddenly. Several described getting notices that the card would be shut down within days of the issuer switch. The company didn't give a grace period or alternative for non-EEA holders.
Why the provider change triggered a halt
Ready's USDC card was tied to a specific issuer. When the company swapped providers, the new issuer apparently didn't support accounts outside the EEA. That left non-European users stranded while EEA customers appear to have kept service.
Ready hasn't announced a timeline for restoring the card in other regions. Users outside the EEA are now stuck with no clear path to reactivate their funds or transfer them. The company hasn't offered a replacement card or a refund process for the deactivated accounts.
