Ripple Secures $200M Credit Line from Neuberger Berman for Prime Brokerage Expansion

Ripple has secured a $200 million credit line from asset manager Neuberger Berman, the companies said Monday. The financing is earmarked for Ripple Prime, the firm's prime brokerage arm, to expand margin lending and other services aimed at institutional traders who move between crypto and traditional markets.

What the credit line funds

The $200 million facility increases Ripple Prime's capacity to offer margin lending and brokerage services. Institutional clients will benefit from more liquidity for cross-market trading. The move signals Ripple's push to deepen its foothold in prime brokerage — a space where crypto firms compete with traditional players like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. Margin lending lets traders borrow money to amplify positions, and Ripple Prime has been building out that product since its launch last year.

Why Neuberger Berman stepped in

Neuberger Berman, which manages over $500 billion in assets, is extending the credit line to Ripple. The asset manager has been active in crypto lending before, but this is its first direct credit facility to a prime brokerage platform. The partnership suggests growing institutional appetite for regulated crypto finance services. Neither firm disclosed the interest rate or repayment terms.

Ripple Prime's positioning

Ripple Prime launched in 2025 as a one-stop shop for institutional crypto trading, custody, and lending. The new credit line gives it more firepower to compete with established prime brokers like FalconX and Coinbase Prime. Ripple has been expanding its suite of services, and this financing is the latest step. The timing isn't accidental — institutional demand for prime brokerage has surged as more traditional asset allocators add crypto exposure.

The credit line is available immediately, Ripple said. No specific drawdown schedule was disclosed, and it's unclear how quickly Ripple Prime will deploy the funds.
