Ripple is combining its flagship Swell conference with the XRPL Apex developer summit for the first time this year, marking a milestone as the event enters its 10th edition. The joint gathering is set for New York and is expected to draw more than 1,500 people from finance, blockchain, and digital assets, according to the company.

The consolidation comes as Ripple prepares what executives are calling the company's largest conference yet. By merging Swell's institutional focus with Apex's developer audience, Ripple is signaling a tighter link between building on the XRP Ledger and selling crypto services to banks and payment firms. The timing also aligns with Ripple's broader push to frame XRP as infrastructure for real-world payments — not just a trading asset.
A decade of Swell
First held in 2017, Ripple Swell has evolved from a small user meetup into a major industry event. This year's 10th anniversary gives the company a natural hook to talk about longevity and regulatory wins. It's a chance to contrast Ripple's survival against a long list of crypto casualties from the past decade.
What's on the agenda
The event will center on institutional crypto adoption and growth of the XRP Ledger ecosystem. That means panels on custody, tokenization, cross-border payments, and likely a heavy dose of developer tooling. XRPL Apex brings the technical crowd — think sidechains, oracles, and DeFi building blocks. Ripple hasn't released a full agenda yet, but the combination suggests a program that bridges business development and code.
New York is a strategic choice. The state has one of the strictest crypto licensing regimes in the U.S., but also hosts the largest concentration of institutional finance talent. Holding the event there lets Ripple engage directly with banks and regulators who operate under the BitLicense framework.
The conference is scheduled for later this year. Ripple has not announced specific dates or a venue. Given the scale — 1,500-plus attendees — expect a mid-size convention space in Manhattan or Brooklyn.
