Ripple's Brazil Accelerator Logs 44,000 On-Chain Transactions, Backs 9 Startups

Ripple's University Digital Asset Xcelerator (UDAX) program in Brazil has already generated over 44,000 on-chain transactions since its launch on July 13, 2026. The initiative is backing nine startups, tapping into a fintech scene that's already comfortable with instant payments and modern rails.

Why Brazil

Brazil's fintech culture is a natural fit for crypto. The country has modern payment rails and a population used to instant transfers. That makes it easier for new apps built on the XRP Ledger to gain traction. The UDAX program aims to create a pipeline of those apps, potentially driving steady demand through ledger fees and base reserves.

On-chain activity and price

XRP was trading around $1.13 on July 21, with a 30-day change of roughly +1%. Daily active addresses on the XRP Ledger jumped from about 23,000 on June 14 to about 39,500 by June 27 — a 72% increase. On July 16, spot XRP ETFs recorded a net inflow of about $6.78 million, bringing cumulative flows to around $1.49 billion. The alignment of on-chain activity, builder activity, and capital flows could set a higher low for XRP, according to the article.

What UDAX does

The accelerator provides startups with resources, mentorship, and direct access to the XRP Ledger. The nine selected companies are working on a range of applications, from payments to tokenization. The goal isn't just to launch apps — it's to create sustained usage that generates ledger fees and consumes base reserves, building a self-reinforcing ecosystem.

The program is still early. Whether those nine startups can build apps that drive ongoing demand remains the open question. Ripple hasn't announced a second cohort yet.
