Samsung Wallet to Support USDC Stablecoin at Galaxy Unpacked 2026

Samsung Wallet to Support USDC Stablecoin at Galaxy Unpacked 2026

Samsung announced at Galaxy Unpacked 2026 that its Wallet app will soon support stablecoins, including USD Coin (USDC). The company also revealed a new Galaxy card issued by Barclays.

Stablecoin integration for Samsung Wallet

The move brings USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar, directly into Samsung Wallet. Users will be able to store, send, and receive the token within the app. Samsung did not say whether other stablecoins would follow or when the feature would go live.

The announcement positions Samsung Wallet alongside other digital wallets that have added crypto support. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet have not yet integrated stablecoins in the same way, though both have added payment card support for crypto-linked cards.

Barclays-issued Galaxy card

Alongside the stablecoin news, Samsung introduced a new Galaxy card issued by Barclays. The card is designed for Samsung Wallet users and will offer rewards tied to Galaxy ecosystem purchases. Barclays is the issuing bank, but Samsung did not detail specific reward rates or fees.

The Galaxy card will be available in both physical and digital forms, according to the company. It will integrate with Samsung Wallet for contactless payments and could potentially link to the stablecoin feature, though Samsung has not confirmed that.

What this means for Samsung Wallet users

Samsung Wallet already supports payments, loyalty cards, and digital IDs. Adding USDC gives users a way to hold a dollar-pegged cryptocurrency without leaving the app. The Barclays card adds a traditional credit option.

The company framed the updates as part of a broader push to make Samsung Wallet a central hub for daily transactions. No pricing or launch dates were provided for either the stablecoin support or the new card.

Samsung has not said whether the stablecoin feature will be available globally or limited to certain markets. The Barclays card is likely aimed at U.S. customers, given Barclays' presence there.
