Solana climbed back above $106 on Binance spot Tuesday, up 2.59% over 24 hours, after the token slid to a session low of $100.43. The bounce puts SOL at $106.10, but the recovery is running into a wall of medium-term moving averages overhead.
Momentum has flattened near $108, leaving the token stuck between a floor that held once and a ceiling that has refused to break.
The $100.43 floor that held
The session low of $100.43 matters because it's the level where buyers stepped in. SOL traded below $104 for part of the session before recovering, and the move back above $106 erased most of the intraday damage. On Binance, the pair is still nursing a gain of more than 2.5% for the day, which puts it among the better performers in a market that hasn't offered much direction.
The recovery wasn't a straight line. Price chopped through the $104 to $106 range before settling near $106.10, and the volume that accompanied the bounce hasn't been enough to suggest a breakout is imminent. That's the problem with a bounce off a round number like $100: it looks like a bottom until it doesn't.
Moving averages form a ceiling
The cluster of medium-term moving averages sitting above the current price is the more stubborn obstacle. These are the lines traders watch to gauge whether a rebound has legs, and right now they're stacked in a way that makes $108 a hard level to clear. Every push toward that area has met sellers.
Momentum flatlining near $108 tells the story. The token isn't falling apart, but it isn't building either. It's grinding. For a recovery to count, SOL would need to close above that moving-average cluster and hold it for more than a session. So far, that hasn't happened.
What the bounce does and doesn't prove
A 2.59% gain and a defended $100 level are not nothing. They show there's demand at lower prices, and they keep the token from slipping into a deeper slide. But the intraday recovery is facing resistance exactly where it needs to break through, and momentum that stalls near $108 is momentum that's running out of fuel.
The next test is whether SOL can push past $108 with volume. If it can't, the $100.43 low becomes the reference point again, and the market will find out whether that floor was real or just a pause. If it can, the moving-average cluster stops being a ceiling and becomes support.
For now, SOL is a coin in a range. The $100.43 low held once. The $108 area has held every time. Something has to give, and the market hasn't decided which side yet.
