Spot Bitcoin ETFs Draw $241M Weekly Inflow, Third Straight Week of Gains

Spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $241 million in net inflows last week, the third consecutive weekly gain. The streak has added $2.4 billion to ETF investor funds in just two weeks, pushing all-time net inflows to $57.8 billion, according to SoSoValue data.

The buying was concentrated. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust led the pack, contributing roughly $158.2 million in weekly volume — the largest share among spot Bitcoin ETFs. Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund drew $29.3 million, while MSBT added $2.4 million. On October 2 alone, spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $189 million in net inflows, again paced by iShares.

Bitcoin's run to $87,000

The ETF flows arrived alongside a price push. Bitcoin climbed toward $87,000, nearly touching an eight-month high, before pulling back to around $86,000. The move followed softer-than-expected U.S. jobs data, which typically boosts risk assets, and was reinforced by the steady ETF demand.

The combination — weak macro data plus consistent institutional buying — has become a familiar pattern this quarter. Bitcoin hasn't sustained a break above $87,000 yet, but it's knocking on the door.

Ether funds bleed while Solana and XRP gain

Not every crypto ETF had a good week. Spot Ether ETFs recorded $138 million in net outflows, dragging year-to-date inflows down to $1.5 billion. The disparity is stark: Bitcoin funds are compounding gains while Ether products are still fighting to stay positive on the year.

Smaller altcoin ETFs fared better. Solana ETFs pulled in $2.4 million, and XRP ETFs added $4.7 million. Those numbers are modest next to Bitcoin's haul, but they're positive — and in a week when Ether funds lost ground, that counts for something.

What to watch

The next test is whether Bitcoin can hold above $86,000 and make another run at $87,000. ETF flows will be part of that story. If the inflows keep coming at this pace, the all-time net inflow figure — already at $57.8 billion — will keep climbing. But Ether's outflows are a reminder that the ETF trade isn't lifting every asset equally.

Investors will get fresh flow data when the next weekly tally lands. Until then, the market's near-term direction hinges on whether macro data stays soft and whether BlackRock's iShares fund keeps setting the pace.
