Starknet Leads Altcoin Gains With 82% Weekly Rise, But Unlock Looms

Starknet's STRK token has posted the biggest seven-day gain among major altcoins, climbing 81.7% according to CoinGecko data. LayerZero's ZRO and NEAR Protocol's NEAR followed with gains of 21.7% and 12.3% respectively over the same period. The rally comes as Bitcoin and other large-cap assets trade sideways, pushing traders toward smaller tokens.

But the three tokens are not in the same position. ZRO and NEAR are showing sustained momentum, while STRK's surge is already showing signs of fatigue after a weekly candle that nearly doubled the previous week.

Starknet's rally stalls near $0.12

STRK's price has run into resistance around $0.12, a level it failed to clear after a 110% weekly candle the week before. The weekly relative strength index has dropped from an overbought 77 to 65, a sign that buying pressure is easing. That's not a crash signal on its own, but it does suggest the easy part of the move is over.

What's coming next could make things harder. On October 15, 127 million STRK tokens are scheduled to unlock. That's a lot of new supply hitting the market at a time when momentum is already cooling. Token unlocks often lead to selling pressure, especially when holders who received tokens at lower prices decide to take profits.

If STRK falls below $0.083, the next downside target is $0.06. A recovery above $0.12 could push the price toward $0.151 and potentially $0.181, but the immediate trend favors caution. The RSI decline from 77 to 65 doesn't mean the rally is dead, but it does mean buyers are no longer in control the way they were a week ago.

LayerZero breaks key resistance on strong volume

ZRO is trading at $2.40, up 17.8% in the last 24 hours, and has moved above the $2.19 resistance level that had capped its price for weeks. The weekly RSI has reached 72, which points to strong buying momentum but also raises the risk of overheating. Trading volume is at its highest since February, which gives the move more credibility than a low-volume spike would.

A weekly close above $2.19 would be a significant technical development. If that happens, ZRO could push toward $2.54–$2.60. Breaking that zone could open the way to $3.04. On the flip side, renewed selling could send the price back toward $1.84, followed by $1.41. The volume support makes the bullish case stronger for now, but RSI at 72 is a level where rallies often pause.

NEAR holds support, but correction risk builds

NEAR is trading at $5.63, up 4.8% in 24 hours, and remains above its $5.42 support level. The weekly RSI has stayed near 75 for four weeks, which shows sustained buying strength but also an increased risk of a correction. Strong trading volume during September's breakout supports the bullish trend, but four weeks of elevated RSI is a long time for any asset to stay that hot without a pullback.

If NEAR holds above $5.42, it could climb toward $6.66, an approximately 18% gain from current levels. Losing that support could trigger a decline toward $4.54, and a deeper correction could take prices toward $3.10–$3.35. The $5.42 level is the line in the sand. As long as NEAR stays above it, the trend remains intact.

Where the three tokens stand

ZRO and NEAR show stronger bullish momentum, largely because their rallies are supported by volume and haven't yet run into major resistance. STRK faces a higher risk of further correction after its sharp rally, especially with the October 15 unlock approaching. The RSI readings tell the story: ZRO at 72 and NEAR at 75 are both in overbought territory, but they got there gradually. STRK's drop from 77 to 65 suggests the token is already in the cooling phase.

Bitway (BTW) also ranked second by seven-day gains, but it trades on thin volume, making its move less reliable as a market signal.

Traders will be watching whether ZRO can close the week above $2.19 and whether NEAR can hold $5.42. For STRK, the October 15 unlock is the next scheduled event that could tip the balance. Until then, the token's price action between $0.083 and $0.12 will set the tone for what comes next.
