Strategy Adds 334 Bitcoin for $28.7M, Holdings Hit 848,000 BTC All-Time High

Strategy bought another 334 Bitcoin for $28.7 million, the company's third consecutive weekly purchase and a fresh record for its stash. Total holdings now sit at 848,000 BTC as of Oct. 4, the largest corporate Bitcoin position anywhere.

The company also repurchased $176 million worth of STRC, its preferred stock, which had slumped to $75 over the summer before recovering to roughly $99.50 by Friday's close.

Three weeks, three buys

The weekly cadence is the story here. Strategy has now strung together three straight purchases, a pace that says the company is treating the dips as buying opportunities rather than a reason to pause. It's a familiar playbook for a firm that started accumulating over six years ago and hasn't really stopped since.

The math is straightforward. Strategy has spent almost $64 billion to build the position, at an average price of $75,441 per BTC. With Bitcoin trading around $86,000, the unrealized gain sits at nearly $9 billion. That's not a paper profit the company is rushing to realize — it's a long-term bet that keeps getting reinforced.

The STRC rebound

STRC's run from $75 to nearly $99.50 is a quieter but telling part of the story. The preferred stock traded well below its $100 par value during the summer, a stretch that would have tested investor patience. The recovery puts it back near par, and the $176 million repurchase suggests management saw value in its own paper while it was cheap.

Strategy still holds $5.7 billion in USD assets, which gives it room to keep buying Bitcoin without stretching its balance sheet too far. That cushion matters when the company is committing to a weekly accumulation schedule.

A $21 billion quarter

Strategy reported a $21 billion gain on digital assets in the third quarter of 2026. That figure is the clearest signal yet of how much the Bitcoin position contributes to the company's overall financial picture — and why the weekly purchases have become something like a routine.

For a company that began buying Bitcoin over six years ago, the current position is the culmination of a strategy that most public companies still won't touch. Strategy is the outlier, and it's leaning into that role.

The obvious question is whether the weekly streak extends to four. Strategy has given no sign it plans to slow down, and with $5.7 billion in USD assets on hand, it has the means to keep going. The next purchase, if it comes, would land against a backdrop of a recovered STRC and a Bitcoin price that's still well above the company's average cost.
