Strategy boosted its USD Reserve to $1.1 billion this week and added to its total Bitcoin holdings, doubling down on its crypto-heavy treasury strategy. The move comes after the company tapped that same reserve the prior month, suggesting a pattern of buying on dips without publicly telegraphing each trade.
Reserve growth and BTC purchases
Strategy didn't disclose the exact size of its latest Bitcoin acquisition, but the expansion of its dollar reserve implies it raised fresh capital or redirected cash to maintain firepower. The company now holds more Bitcoin than ever, though it declined to specify the total number of tokens or average purchase price.
Last month's drawdown
In May, Strategy dipped into its USD Reserve — the cash and equivalents set aside for opportunistic buys — to acquire additional Bitcoin. That transaction reduced the reserve from its previous level, making this week's replenishment notable. The timing also follows a period of relatively flat Bitcoin prices, suggesting the firm sees current levels as attractive.
Strategy's approach remains straightforward: accumulate Bitcoin via equity raises, debt issuance, or cash reserves, and hold. The company has been a vocal corporate advocate of Bitcoin since 2020. By rebuilding its reserve so quickly after a drawdown, it signals confidence in its long-term thesis — and a willingness to stay aggressive even when markets don't move sharply.
The next quarterly filing will show the exact balance sheet impact. For now, the market knows Strategy is buying again, and its war chest is bigger than it was a month ago.
