Strive Adds 79 Bitcoin, Now Holds 20,000 BTC as Corporate Accumulation Slows

Strive has pushed its Bitcoin stash past the 20,000 mark, adding 79 BTC between July 20 and 24. The purchases cost roughly $5.2 million, at an average price of $65,723 per coin plus fees. The move comes as several other corporate Bitcoin holders have slowed or reversed their accumulation.

The latest buy

Strive now holds exactly 20,000 BTC, worth about $1.3 billion at current prices. The company went from 19,921 to 20,000 in just four days. That's a small buy relative to its total stack, but it keeps the streak alive.

Strive adopted Bitcoin as a treasury asset in September 2025. It went public earlier that year via a reverse merger with Asset Entities, with Matt Cole taking over as CEO. The firm also merged with Semler Scientific in January 2026, absorbing over 5,000 BTC in a stock-only deal.

How Strive compares to peers

Strive is still a minnow next to Strategy, which holds over 843,000 BTC. Twenty One Capital and Metaplanet sit at 43,500 and 43,000 BTC respectively. But while those giants have paused — Strategy halted its purchases, Metaplanet stopped buying — Strive is still stacking.

Others are heading the other way. Satsuma Technology sold 579 BTC in December and voted to sell its remaining 668. Smarter Web Company, Nakamoto, and a few others have also divested portions. Strive is one of the few corporate buyers still adding.

The BTC-per-share play

Strive's strategy mirrors the one Strategy made famous: grow Bitcoin per share faster than spot BTC. The company has authorized a $4.2 billion capital raise program, with the explicit goal of converting cash into Bitcoin as it's raised. As of July, Strive reported cash reserves of $157.4 million, up from $154.1 million, though it posted a quarterly net loss of $393.6 million.

That loss doesn't seem to be slowing the buying. With $4.2 billion in authorized raises, Strive has plenty of runway to keep accumulating — assuming the market cooperates.

Strive hasn't said when it will tap the capital program next, but the pattern is clear: buy when cash is available. The next quarterly report will show whether the pace picks up or slows down. For now, 20,000 BTC is the new floor.
