Sui Network suffered outages on two consecutive days this week, knocking the blockchain offline and sending its native token down 20% over the past seven days. The disruptions have turned Sui into one of the worst-performing assets in the top 100 by market cap.
Two days offline
The network stopped producing blocks on both Wednesday and Thursday, according to status updates. Users could not send transactions or interact with dApps during the downtime. Each outage lasted several hours before the network resumed normal operation. The cause hasn't been disclosed.
Token slides 20%
Sui's token price fell 20% in the last week, accelerating after the second outage. The decline wiped out gains from earlier in the month and pushed the token to its lowest level since mid-April. Trading volumes spiked as holders moved to exit positions.
Worst in the top 100
Among the 100 largest cryptocurrencies by market cap, Sui recorded the steepest weekly loss. Most other top assets were flat or slightly down over the same period. The back-to-back outages are the clear culprit — reliability concerns tend to hit prices hard for layer-1 networks.
