Take-Two Interactive shares are now trading on Solana after Backpack Securities wrapped the stock into a tokenized asset, letting crypto wallets hold a 1:1 redeemable stake in the company. The launch lands as Rockstar gears up for an extended GTA 6 look on Netflix later this month, with the game itself due November 19.
Tokenized shares, real equity
Backpack Securities, the tokenization arm of Solana-based exchange Backpack, launched the wrapped TTWO shares this week. They represent a 1:1 redeemable stake in TTWO shares held in a dedicated custody vehicle, not synthetic derivatives. Backpack CEO Armani Ferrante said investors hold full ownership of the traded U.S. equities, backed by traditional exchange liquidity.
The token settles instantly and trades outside Nasdaq's normal hours. The wrapped stock last traded at $233.79, flat over 24 hours, with a market cap around $288,438. Its all-time high of $238.10 came just a day earlier, on August 6. Backpack previously tokenized SpaceX shares in June.
GTA 6's big Netflix moment
Netflix will air an exclusive extended look at GTA 6 on August 27 at 3 p.m. ET, with a YouTube and GTA VI site release six hours later. Rockstar has billed the special as more than a standard trailer. The game's story follows protagonists Jason and Lucia across the fictional state of Leonida after a heist collapses.
Take-Two's July filing confirmed the release date and projected over $1 billion in fiscal 2027 cash flow. Rising chip costs have pushed console prices higher across the industry, but the launch window is set for November 19 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What analysts make of it
Twenty-nine analysts tracked by S&P Global hold a Strong Buy rating on TTWO, with a consensus price target of $284.14 and a range of $170 to $368. That's well above the token's current price, though the tokenized market is still tiny.
