Strategy has paused its Bitcoin sales this week after two straight weeks of selling some of its holdings. The company kept its STRC buyback program running through that stretch, funding the purchases with proceeds from common stock sales.
The Bitcoin pause
Two consecutive weeks of trimming BTC came to a halt this week. Strategy sold some of its Bitcoin in each of those weeks, then stopped. There's no word yet on whether the pause is a short breather or something longer, and the company hasn't signaled what comes next for its holdings.
Buybacks keep running
The STRC buyback program didn't slow down. Strategy continued repurchasing shares last week, and the money came from selling common stock rather than touching its Bitcoin. It's the same funding route the company has leaned on to keep the buyback machine going.
Where the cash went
Not all of the stock-sale proceeds went to buybacks. Some of the money was used to pay dividends, and Strategy also boosted its USD reserves with the rest.
The pause raises a straightforward question: when does Strategy start selling Bitcoin again, if it does at all. The buyback program's next funding round will offer a clue about whether the stock-sale pipeline stays open.
