Token Unlocks Top $793M This Week as LayerZero, Plasma and Humanity Release Supply

Crypto projects are set to release more than $793.6 million worth of tokens in the fourth week of October 2026, led by unlocks at LayerZero, Plasma and Humanity. The three unlocks alone account for roughly $76.3 million, with the remainder spread across other scheduled releases including SoSoValue, Kaito and Bedrock. Tokenomist has flagged the three largest unlocks as pending verification, meaning the numbers are still projections.

LayerZero's $43.5M transfer

LayerZero (ZRO) will unlock 23.28 million tokens on Oct. 20, representing 3.83% of its released supply and worth about $43.54 million. Of that total, 10.99 million ZRO goes to strategic partners, 10.63 million to core contributors and 1.67 million to tokens the team repurchased. The interoperability protocol has a released supply of 607.45 million ZRO against a total supply of 1 billion. It connects blockchains for cross-chain communication without traditional bridging models, a design that has made it a target for both integrators and critics.

Plasma's stablecoin-focused unlock

Plasma (XPL) follows on Oct. 25 with 227.78 million tokens worth $17.50 million, or 5.02% of its released supply. The Layer 1 blockchain, built for stablecoin efficiency, will send 88.89 million XPL to ecosystem and growth, while investors and the team each receive 69.44 million tokens. Plasma's released supply is 4.53 billion XPL out of a total 10 billion. The project advertises zero-fee USDT transfers, custom gas tokens and confidential payments — a pitch aimed at payment processors rather than general-purpose DeFi users.

Humanity's broad distribution

Humanity (H) also unlocks on Oct. 25, releasing 266.47 million tokens worth $15.30 million — 6.84% of its released supply. The decentralized identity protocol, which uses palm biometrics and zero-knowledge proofs, will distribute tokens across six buckets: early contributors get 79.17 million H, investors 55.56 million, the ecosystem fund 50 million, identity verification rewards 42.86 million, the Human Institute Strategic Reserve 26.39 million and the foundation operations treasury 12.50 million. Humanity's released supply is 3.90 billion H against a total of 10 billion.

What the calendar doesn't show

Unlock schedules are fixed, but their market impact isn't. The LayerZero release sends nearly half its tokens to partners and contributors — groups that may or may not sell. Plasma's team and investor allocations total 138.88 million XPL, a sizeable chunk relative to its $17.5 million valuation. Humanity's spread across six categories makes it harder to track where the selling pressure might come from. The pending-verification tag from Tokenomist adds another layer of uncertainty: the figures could shift before the unlock dates.

The first test comes Oct. 20 with LayerZero. The following Sunday, Oct. 25, brings both Plasma and Humanity. Whether the market absorbs the new supply without a price break is the open question — and one that won't be answered until the tokens are actually in circulation.
